Radon Mitigation - Wausa, NE
This young client is a serious farmer, sought our help for a radon remediation system in his parents' ranch-style home. Built in 2016, the basement, mostly finished, had a passive system in place, but client considered alternative options due to concerns about warranties and fan longevity. A 4'' PVC pipe was speculated to be installed for the location of the system. With radon levels at 11.5 after test, health worries arose for him and his family, prompting the installation of a 20x25 filter and UVC. Additional points near the water heater and an interior drain tile in the sump pit were noted. The client, initially reserved, he warmed up during the process and provided an amazing feedback that he was very happy how the team was hands-on.

Radon Safety is a Family's Priority
Radon safety was learned by this client's daughter from school. She expressed how she was concerned for their home and wanted to have a radon test. The result retuned around 30 pCi/L, she was really worried how it was this high for the longest time they have been residing in their home. They immediately called Radon Defense Midwest and told the team it was on top of the list upon hitting search on Google. Happy that they knew how legit the company's feedbacks were, they decided to move forward with the installation. It was a simple system for an average home, not too complicated. They were happy how it turned out!

This was an easy install as the homeowner was working in the construction industry before, so he did the most work in drafting how the radon mitigation system installed in his home. The team committed to his request and started from his daughter's bedroom closet running through the floor joists above the drop ceiling. From the crawlspace it would go through the master bedroom and straight shot into his garage. Regardless of the garage not having a ceiling, the crawlspace was very workable. The homeowner insisted on removing the debris and having the ceiling tiles adjusted from the master bedroom to expedite the job. His levels returned 7 pCi/L so there was sense of urgency. Homeowner was really happy with how it turned out!

A Client's Radon Dilemma
Meeting Judy and her boyfriend Ron was lively. Despite being elderly, they were full of questions and stories, curious about every detail of the radon mitigation plan. Their basement, with levels of 17, felt damp and musty, while readings upstairs ranged from 5 to 7. Health concerns loomed large. The basement, half finished, had a small sump pit, and the sump pump shared space with a toilet and floor drain. Plans included adding plexiglass and two extraction points: one in the corner and another near the drain. To minimize noise, the vent would exit near the bathroom, away from Judy’s bedroom. With Judy’s severe allergies, the team also offered options of filtration with Breathe EZ regardiless of their numerous air purification units. They were happy about that option and had it installed.

High Radon Levels Worry Family Home
Levels of 7.2 were detected in this ranch house with a half finished basement. The installation type is a sub slab extraction point next to plumbing stack on back of house next to sink and refrigerator. It was how the client imagined so it would not be eating much enough space in another section of the home. They also added Breathe EZ for better filtration of radon. They wanted to make sure this should until retirement! We did agree!
